The PMCONT controller is a microprocessor-based power control unit designed to deliver the short, high current pulses required to operate the Power Matrix. The
PMCONT features internal current sensing checks for full magnetic saturation of the chuck. An output interlock relay can prevent machine operation until the chuck is
magnetized. The PMCONT's fail-safe system means the chuck remains magnetized in the event of a power failure. Unlike electromagnets, permanent magnets use
electricity only for the hold/release switching, a process that takes less than one second and can be controlled only via push buttons on the remote handset.
